Tara’s love for nature was born from her childhood, a blend of her mother’s love of travel and her father’s appreciation of the outdoors. Her mom preferred hotels and spas, while her dad wanted to take the family on camping trips.
To compromise, they would have backyard camping nights, roasted s’mores and telling stories around the campfire—her family sleeping under the stars, while her mom retreating indoors to her comfortable bed. Then, to bridge the gap between their adventure styles, Tara’s Dad bought a top-of-the-line air mattress for her mom and other small luxuries, to make camping more comfortable for the whole family. This led to many camping trips up in the forests of Canada.
As Tara grew up, she developed her own connection to nature, finding that a simple walk through the woods was the best stress reliever. However, she also found herself craving the luxury of a soft bed and the comforts of home after a day of hiking. It was this combination of adventure and comfort that sparked her passion for a glamping business—a way to bring the magic of nature to everyone, regardless of experience, without sacrificing comfort.
City Lights Glamping was born from a desire to offer others a chance to reconnect with the outdoors in a way that felt just right—luxurious, accessible, and unforgettable.
